Your comments are in sync with discussions for creating public awareness and interventions on this important but much neglected social issue in our society. Having a dialogue at various levels especially in places where men are encouraged to be silent about the abuse of women is a step towards the right direction for addressing the violence against women. Domestic violence does cut across all classes, race, ethnicity, and age groups. For example - the South Asians are considered the model minority and thus there is denial regrading prevalence of domestic violence. To create public awareness within the community Asha Ray of Hope launched a program called 'Chi-Chat' (talking over a cup of tea') at different religious, recreational and social institutions to discuss the prevalence of domestic abuse in our communities. For us this has been one of our strategies towards raising awareness and promoting discussions about this social problem.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07743271313175437332noreply@blogger.com
